Perimeter
Perimeter is the measure of the outside of an object. It is the sum of all the sides outside of the figure.
Area
Area is the measure of the inside, or surface, of the object. Area is measured in square units.
All shapes involving area and perimeter are enclosed shapes. Can you think of an example or situation where you might need to use area or perimeter?
